Valget af stoffer er baseret p\u00e5 de egenskaber, vi \u00f8nsker, at materialet skal have. Stofferne vil fungere sammen og give det endelige kompositmateriale den bedst mulige ydeevne. Det er det stof, der er forst\u00e6rket med glasfiber for at give materialet de \u00f8nskede egenskaber. Der findes mange forskellige typer harpikser, der anvendes i produktionen af kompositter. Overfladerne kan fremstilles med sand, hvilket reducerer risikoen ved at give et godt greb for b\u00e5de f\u00f8dder og hjul. Ruheden p\u00e5 overfladerne kan tilpasses efter behov. Derudover er selve glasfibrene ikke-brandfarlige, hvilket er med til at reducere potentiel risiko.
