Markets

We offer solutions suitable for several markets with strict requirements and challenging conditions.

Contract entered into with Nordic Halibut

We build solutions that last

At Glassfiber Products we combine knowledge, experience and technology to create solutions that stand the test of time and use. Our access solutions in glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP) are developed for harsh environments – especially where structures are exposed to seawater, chemicals and weather.
Therefore, fiberglass is a natural choice in aquaculture, industry and typical coastal facilities.

The material is light, strong, flexible and easy to adapt on site. It requires minimal maintenance as paint or rust protection. For the customer, this means easier installation, lower operating costs and a long service life – without compromising safety.

GRP platform for Nordic Halibut

We have entered into a contract for the delivery of a total of 900 m² fiberglass platform to Nordic Halibut's new hatchery in Torjulvågen, Tingvoll.
The facility will be the world's first specifically designed for halibut production – a project that shows how technology and environmental concerns can go hand in hand.

The platforms will be built with fiberglass profiles as a supporting structure, with fiberglass gratings as a cover and with openings and adaptations for fish farming tanks and pipe routing. We are responsible for design, engineering, 3D modeling, production, and assembly – all carried out by our own team to ensure good quality from start to finish.

When the facility is completed in 2026, it will have an annual production of two million halibut fry and will be a boost for both aquaculture and local businesses.

The advantages of fiberglass

Fiberglass stands out from traditional materials such as steel and aluminum. It is resistant to harsh conditions, has low weight and requires little maintenance - properties that make work and operation easier.

  • Low weight: Easier handling, quick installation and lower transportation costs.
  • Corrosion resistant: Withstands seawater, moisture and chemicals without paint or rust protection.
  • Flexible: Can be shaped and adapted to different needs.
  • Long life: No rust or degradation.
  • Safe: Non-conductive and insulating – ideal in installations with electrical equipment.
  • Noise-cancelling: Less vibration and better working environment.

The result is a material that lasts a long time, is easy to work with and provides lower costs over time.

Sustainability in practice

Sustainability is part of our everyday lives – not an add-on. We develop products that use few resources, last a long time and have the least possible environmental impact.

The low weight results in lower energy consumption during transport and assembly, and the material's resistance to corrosion reduces the need for maintenance and replacement.

The Nordic Halibut project is about more than delivering a platform – it is about contributing to safer, more efficient and sustainable aquaculture.

The future is built in composites

Glassfiber Products' solutions are developed to meet the demands of modern industry – where operational reliability, environment and economy must be balanced.
Together with our customers, we build solutions that are light, strong and built to last.
