Subsea cover for protection of subsea installations, Equinor

Gjøa Development Project. 65 different subsea covers were produced with a total weight of 750 tons. Largest structure Gas Export PLEM with dimensions of 22.3 x 10.7 m, height 3.8 m and weight of 49 tons.

Gjøa is an oil field in the North Sea. It is located approximately 70 kilometres from the Troll field. The Gjøa reserves are estimated at approximately 40 billion cubic metres of natural gas and 83 million barrels (13.2 × 106 m3) of oil and condensate. The oil field was discovered in 1989 and development was announced in December 2006. It is being developed by a consortium of Statoil, GDF Suez, Petoro, Royal Dutch Shell and RWE Dea. During the development phase, Statoil is the operator of the field. When production starts, GDF Suez will take over the operatorship. The field will be put into production in 2010 and it will reach plateau production in 2011. The total investment is approximately NOK 27 billion each.
