Stangeland Glassfiber Products celebrates its 20th anniversary and moved on September 4th into brand new premises at 1000 m² at Klepp station. For the first time, the whole gang is gathered under one roof.
At Bedriftsvegen 34 there will be an office, a workshop and a large outdoor warehouse. The area is three times larger than the old premises and the plot is 5.5 acres. Despite a pandemic raging, project manager Magnar Stangeland is not afraid to take risks.
– We are and have been very lucky in the corona times. The good momentum that we have had recently seems to continue, he says happily.

From three premises to one
During September, the warehouse at Orstad will move into the new building. The workshop and outdoor warehouse at Foss Eikeland will also follow. The office is already in place on the second floor of the new building.
– The office staff moved in first so we could get everything ready for the others to arrive.

The workshop consists of three halls. The yellow mezzanine loft was made by Stangeland Glassfiber itself.
Major development
2020 has been an exciting year for Glassfiber Produkter. In connection with the anniversary, the company has carried out a complete revitalization, with a new logo, company profile and website. Elling Stangeland started the company in 2000. At that time he worked at Enwa.

– I noticed that there was an increased demand for fiberglass. The then general manager of Enwa gave me the opportunity to work 50 percent with them, so that I could spend the rest of my time on fiberglass, says Elling.
For 15 years, Stangeland Glassfiber Produkter has had two employees. Today, there are eight.
– The company has developed a lot in the last five years. Magnar started here in 2014 and made important moves by moving the warehouse from Dusavik closer to Klepp.

Increased demand and unique expertise
Stangeland Glassfiber Products are unique in Norway within fiberglass. And you have to go all the way to Denmark to find the closest competitor. The company has noticed increased demand recently, and has therefore invested in a new 5-axis CNC machine for 2 million.
– We don't have to drill by hand. The new machine is more efficient, faster and more accurate.
The company supplies most of its products to markets within oil & gas, fish farming, railway, industry and public. Recently, two large 23-meter footbridges were built and delivered to a fish farming facility.

The footbridges are ready for delivery.
– It was a very nice project and is the longest bridge we have built. Fiberglass rebar is an alternative to steel that is easy to process. Fiberglass has high strength to weight ratio and is corrosion-free. You also have to cut galvanized steel, but we don't need that here.
