Glassfiber Products will supply walkways, stairs, railings, platforms and ladders to Salmon Evolution, a large, new fish farming facility on Indre Harøya in Møre og Romsdal. Salmon Evolution will be one of the largest land-based fish farming facilities in Europe, and Glassfiber Products' solutions will be part of the exciting project.

The properties of fiberglass make it a sought-after material in fish farming. Fiberglass can withstand all types of sea, weather and wind without corroding, and it has high strength and a long service life. You will find fiberglass products installed everywhere on the fish farming facility, which fiberglass is an excellent fit for. The material is lightweight and easy to adjust and install.

"We will deliver several different products to Salmon Evolution, and these will each have their own important functions. The walkways, stairs and platforms they walk on, the railings they hold on to and the ladders they climb will be fiberglass produced by us," explains project engineer Ivar André Olsen.

Leading in Europe
Salmon Evolution is behind the gigantic fish farming facility, one of the largest in Europe. The facility is land-based and will consist of 48 identical tanks, ready to produce 36,000 tons of sustainable salmon of the highest quality. 12 tanks will be completed in phase 1 of the construction. Each tank has a diameter of 28 meters and is approximately 13 meters high. The water level will reach 8 meters in height and can contain approximately 5 million liters of water. It is inside these tanks that fiberglass walkways will be installed.
