There is no doubt that the properties of fiberglass material have gained increasing recognition within fish farming facilities. This is largely due to the material's many properties that effectively address the challenges that traditional materials face in the demanding environment in and around fish farms.
For us at Glassfiber Produkter AS, fish farming has become a large market, where we see that we can help solve challenges with the help of our product solutions. We have already participated in several deliveries to fish farming facilities, both outdoors such as Bulandet Environmental Fish AS and some indoors like the giant Salmon Evolution project.
What these have in common is that they are all located in demanding and highly corrosive environments.
No corrosion
Traditionally, the materials used in such facilities would have quickly become subject to rust and corrosion, which would necessitate regular maintenance or replacement. This entails significant costs in both time and money. However, fiberglass withstands such demanding and corrosive conditions without rusting, rotting or corroding, thus providing both economic and structural durability..

“The fiberglass products look great and withstand the demanding environment in our facility. We save both time and worry as the fiberglass requires minimal maintenance.””
– Oddvar Rapstad, Site Manager Salmom Evolution
Light and Strong
Fiberglass has the impressive ability to achieve the same strength as traditional materials but at up to half the weight. This unique combination gives our fiberglass products a significant advantage, as they are strong enough to handle demanding applications while being significantly lighter than their traditional counterparts.
The low weight makes the installation of our fiberglass products easy and cost-effective, while providing a solid and reliable solution for various applications.

“We are very pleased with what Glassfiber Products has delivered. Fiberglass is an easy material to process and make necessary local adjustments to. It is great not having to worry about rust.”
– Lars Petter Nora, Assistant Project Manager Salmon Evolution
Sustainable
In the construction and industrial industries, increasingly stringent requirements are being placed on sustainability, with increasing focus on environmental friendliness, resource utilization and reduction of negative impact on the planet.
We are therefore proud to be able to work with a material that can have up to 54% less global warming potential (GWP) compared to steel and aluminum. This is according to the European Composites Federation, which refers to research that assesses the material's production, forming and recycling possibilities.
Another major advantage in terms of sustainability is the long lifespan of products manufactured in fiberglass. Long-term solutions mean fewer replacements and necessary upgrades.
