Glassfiber Products has delivered fiberglass gratings to DNT Vesterålen. The gratings have been used in the walkways at the foundations of the new Dronningsætra, which will be built at Guvåghytta in Vesterålen.
Dronningsætra will honor Queen Sonja in connection with her 90th birthday and will be a new addition to DNT Vesterålen's cabin offer.
New DNT cabin at Guvåghytta

The foundations and walkways are now complete. Construction of the cabin itself is scheduled to begin in 2027.
Fiberglass grating used as walkway covering
The fiberglass gratings from Glassfiber Products are used as a walkway covering in the walkways at the foundations. The open grating construction allows rain and meltwater to pass through, instead of remaining on the surface.
The gratings are lightweight compared to similar steel solutions. This makes them easier to transport, handle and install. This can be an advantage in projects where the materials will be moved and installed outdoors.
