Offshore grating article 15911 – Specifications

Offshore Grating article 15911 is a profile-based offshore composite stair tread, composed of longitudinal I-profiles with a height of 38 mm and a 14 mm opening between the profiles. The surface has been sand-coated in black (RAL 9004), which provides good slip resistance even in wet or oily environments.

The step is based on phenol, a resin type known for its very low smoke and toxicity in the event of a fire – a critical characteristic for offshore and maritime installations where evacuation during a fire is essential. The step is therefore specifically designed for demanding offshore environments.

In addition, the step is electrically conductive and approved according to EN 13463-1 and EN 50014 for use in explosive areas. Because the step dissipates static electricity instead of insulating, it is particularly suitable for stairs in oil and gas installations and other ATEX-classified areas.

The step has a reinforced edge on one side (the leading edge), where you normally step first and have the greatest need for extra durability.
