FiReP
REBAR
Fiberglass rebars have a number of advantages, and is a great alternative for reinforcement of different constructions.
SGP REBAR is GRP reinforcement for internal reinforcement of concrete structures. The reinforcement system consists of non-metallic rods and other parts made of fiber-reinforced polymers. Fiberglass reinforcement provides an environmentally friendly alternative which reduces both repair and maintenance costs. The reinforcement will have optimal performance, also over longer periods of time without corroding.
“Fiberglass reinforcement stands out in several ways. We know how to get the most out of the material.”
– Elling Stangeland, managing director
“Armering i glassfiber skiller seg ut på flere måter. Vi vet hvordan vi skal få de mest optimale utnytelsen av armeringen.”

Benefits of using fiberglass
Highly resistant
to corrosion
Fiberglass reinforcement withstands highly corrosive environments. The material can be exposed to water, moisture, salt, gas, chemicals and other acidic or alkaline factors. Traditional materials such as steel will have problems, which further lead to expansion and damage to concrete. In several cases, fiberglass reinforcement will ensure better quality, longer duration and better performance over time.
Easy and safe
installation
Fiberglass’s low weight makes it easy to handle, transport and install. Among other things, the reinforcing bars have a sealed surface which causes less irritation to the skin during handling, and it protects the material at the same time. The material can also be cut on site. It provides good opportunities to make adaptations quickly and easily during installation.
Magnetic neutrality with
insulating properties
Magnetic neutrality means that fiberglass reinforcement can be used in situations where other materials cannot. There may be buildings where various devices and equipment are exposed to magnetic influence. The material and it’s surface act as an almost perfect electrical insulator. The reinforcement also has lower thermal conductivity and higher insulation compared to steel and other materials.
High tensile-
strength
The fiberglass has an excellent ability to stretch and still maintain a high level of strength. This is explained by high-quality glass filaments combined with high-performance resin. It gives the reinforcement very high tensile strength and long durability.
Proper bonding
to concrete
The bars are designed for optimal cooperation between fiberglass and concrete. The rebars are produced with rigid waveforms which provide an excellent bonding effect to any concrete structures. The material’s properties ensure a high load capacity.
Cost effective with
low CO2 emissions
The fiberglass retains a high degree of strength even though the weight is low. This means a less demanding production, installation and transportion. It keeps costs down and reduces emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases.
Unlike other types of reinforcement, the fiberglass can easily be adjusted, cut and adapted directly at the worksite, and it also requires no special tools. This great flexibility is one of many reasons our customers choose fiberglass.
FiReP
Powermesh
Strong, flexible and corrosion-free mesh for reinforcing concrete.
Powermesh is a strong fiberglass mesh for reinforcing concrete structures. The mesh is tied together by strong knots which withstand heavy loads in the same way as welded steel mesh. Powermesh has all the same advantages as FiReP Rebar.
Applications
The wide range of benefits means that fiberglass reinforcement can be used for a several applications.
