Corrosion is a thing of the past
Rust and corrosion – a concern for any aquaculture facility.
Is there a miracle cure? Yes, we believe so!
Fiberglass materials are becoming increasingly visible in aquaculture facilities across Norway. A key reason is the material’s natural corrosion-resistant properties.
Unlike traditional materials commonly used in industrial and facility settings, fiberglass is not susceptible to rust due to its unique composition.
Since 2000, Glassfiber Produkter AS has been supplying fiberglass products to a broad market in Norway and internationally. In recent years, we have worked hard to establish ourselves in the aquaculture industry and position fiberglass as a viable alternative to traditional materials.
Today, we provide complete fiberglass solutions, handling everything from the design phase to final installation.
Our best year yet
2024 has proven to be a record-breaking year for Glassfiber Produkter AS, as we reap the rewards of strong reference projects and growing acceptance of fiberglass as a leading material in the aquaculture industry.
Orders are coming in faster than ever, and trust from our largest customers continues to grow.
Recently, Glassfiber Produkter AS signed its largest contract to date with AKVA Group Landbased, valued at approximately 30 million NOK. The contract includes the design, production, and installation of fiberglass structures for one of AKVA Group Landbased’s new projects.
– We are very familiar with fiberglass materials and already purchase components from Glassfiber Produkter AS outside of this new contract.Glassfiber Produkter AS was chosen based on a comprehensive evaluation, considering both commercial aspects and technical solutions.
We look forward to an exciting collaboration, says Vivi Ann Selchow, Supply Chain Manager, AKVA Group Landbased

Long-time partners have also contributed to making this year a success.
At the end of 2021, Glassfiber Produkter AS supplied fiberglass structures for the massive Salmon Evolution facility.
Three years later, we have now signed another major contract with general contractor HENT AS for Salmon Evolution Phase 2.
– When selecting suppliers, we focus on execution capability, reference projects, and price. Based on our experience from the first construction phase and Glassfiber Produkter AS’s extensive expertise, we are confident that their product meets the project’s requirements—especially in terms of corrosion resistance. says Marius Rønning Svorkås, Project Manager, HENT AS
Glassfiber Produkter AS is proud of the work we have done to introduce fiberglass materials to the aquaculture industry—one of Norway’s most demanding sectors in terms of quality and safety. Fiberglass is no longer just associated with boats and cars—it is now being used to construct large, durable structures across the country in one of Norway’s most vital industries.
And that is something we are incredibly proud of!
We have several great reference projects we would like to showcase.

Lofoten Biomarine
– We initially chose fiberglass because of its longevity. It’s about lifespan, and then it’s about cost of ownership, says Jon Vestengen, CEO of Lofoten Biomarine, on choosing fiberglass materials.
Gigante Salmon
– The fact that we can more easily join fiberglass with other components gives us much less hassle when it comes to planning and assembly, says Kristian Aanes, Technical Manager at Gigante Salmon Rødøy, on how easy it is to work with fiberglass.
– I would recommend fiberglass products to others in the industry, and really to anyone who needs high-quality walkways and is concerned about corrosion and rust. Fiberglass is a great way to avoid those issues.
Salmon Evolution phase 1
– The fiberglass products are excellent and withstand the demanding environment in our facility. We save both time and worries since fiberglass requires minimal maintenance, says Oddvar Repstad, Fish Welfare Manager at Salmon Evolution, on the advantages of fiberglass materials.
– We are very pleased with what Glassfiber Produkter AS has delivered. Fiberglass is an easy material to work with and allows for necessary on-site adjustments. It’s great not having to worry about rust, says Lars Petter Nora, Assistant Project Manager at Salmon Evolution
